I'm so satisfied now with my marriage it's scary. It almost seems unreal or too good to be true at times. God really did step into my situation and showed me a way out of a dark place. He changed my perspective on a lot of things.
When I first met my wife I wanted to be around her alllllll the time. In fact, some of my friendships were strained because of how twitterpated I was....Interestingly enough, that all changed. I don't know when it happened exactly, but, at some point my wife lost trust in me. The best way I can describe how that made me feel was as if someone took all the wind out of my sails and I was just floating, stuck, going nowhere fast. I felt defeated.
Defeat turned into bitterness and then I became angry. I couldn't believe that my wife didn't trust me. After all, I am here and I didn't leave. I'm a great father to my kids. I'm not on drugs. I don't beat on her, etc. I AM EVERYTHING FOR HER AND MY KIDS THAT MY FATHER WAS NEVER FOR ME! How dare she not trust me?!
I blamed my wife for creating a situation that didn't have to be and for "not letting me lead." I'm head of household as God ordained right? Why doesn't she take a step back and let me be the man that I am. She always seems so upset and nothing I do seems to make her happy......
Fellas, have any of you been there? Have you felt like you are doing everything you can but not getting credit for it at home? Have you felt like your wife doesn't trust you? Doesn't trust your leadership? Doesn't recognize the good things you are doing for her and/or your children?
